Clayton Attractions
Clayton is located at the base of Rabbit Ear Mountains. Fishing is a very popular activity with an annual trout fishing derby held in May.
Clayton Lake State Park has trout, catfish and bass fishing in a 150-acre lake. There is also a short trail overlooking a series of nearly 500 dinosaur footprints dating back more than 100 million years.
Tips: The best times to view the tracks are in the morning and late afternoon.
The Herzstein Memorial Museum is housed in the former Methodist Episcopal Church. Exhibits include many pieces of furniture and exquisite objects from around the world.
