Somers Point Attractions
Somers Point was settled in the 17th century by the Somers family. Its waterfront location provides opportunity for boating, fishing and swimming.
The Atlantic Heritage Cente's 20,000 artifacts illustrate the history of the county, including boat models, weapons, furniture and clothing, with emphasis on the county's major 19th-century industry, shipbuilding.
The library is open to allow visitors to trace their lineage.

The headquarters of the Atlantic County Historical Society was originally built by an early settler, Richard Somers, in 1725. The house is allegedly the oldest house in the county. The mansion contains original eighteenth-century furnishings, including a local textile collection.
