The house, built in 1713, was General George Washington's headquarters in 1780. It was presented to Major General Friedrich von Steuben by the state in gratitude for his services to the Continental Army. It now displays the collection of the Bergen County Historical Society and 1650-1850 Jersey-Dutch furnishings.
