River Edge - New Bridge Landing Park Attractions

New Bridge Landing Park was a mill hamlet that was located at the narrows of the Hackensack River, New Jersey. New Bridge has Steuben House, Campbell-Christie House and Demarest House - three sandstone structures designed in Dutch Colonial styles as well as other buildings.

Steuben House was built in 1752 and was filled with historic furnishings. The Campbell-Christie House was moved to New Bridge in 1977 from New Milford. Demarest House is the best surviving example of a Bergen Dutch sandstone cottage.
Steuben House State Historic Site (closed due to flood damage)
The house, built in 1713, was General George Washington's headquarters in 1780. It was presented to Major General Friedrich von Steuben by the state in gratitude for his services to the Continental Army. It now displays the collection of the Bergen County Historical Society and 1650-1850 Jersey-Dutch furnishings.
