Perth Amboy Attractions
Perth Amboy, incorporated in 1718, is also known as the "City by the Bay". The historic waterfront was originally settled and today features two small museums, an art gallery, a yacht club, and a marina.
Kearny Cottage
Four generations of Kearnys over the last two centuries have occupied this home. The "Cottage," as it has always been known, was the lifelong home of Commodore Lawrence Kearny, the sailor-diplomat responsible for initiating the "Open-Door" policy in China in the 1840's.
Proprietary House
The Proprietary House served as the residence of the last appointed Royal Governor of New Jersey, William Franklin. Frankling and his wife live there form 1774 to 1776.
The Royal Mansion is being restored and the Proprietary House Association operates a museum.
