Lakehurst Attractions
Lakehurst is best known for its role in aviation history. It served as the home of the first international airport in the United States air during the 1920s and 1930s. During the Revolutionary War, it was home to Federal Forge.
The museum is housed in Old Saint John's Church, which was built in 1874. The museum houses a collection of artifacts, books, and pictures which illustrate the history of Lakehurst. Visitors can see charred remnants of the Hindenburg, as well as an array of items from the Navy's rigid airship program.
