Description
There is a scenic driving tour from Neuchâtel to Yverdon. The road (39km/24mi) skirts the northwest side of the Lac de Neuchâtel, the largest of the three Swiss lakes on the fringes of the Jura (39km/24mi long, up to 8km/5mi wide).

Leave Neuchâtel by way of Quai L. Perrier and road 5. In the suburb of Serrières are the Suchard chocolate factory (1826) and a tobacco factory (visitors admitted).

Auvernier (alt. 460 m/1,509ft) is a vine-growing village. It has a number of elegant patrician houses (16th C.) with Renaissance doorways.
