Southeast of Apeldoorn lies the village of Loenen. Here, set in beautiful gardens, is the Huis ter Horst, a brick-built Renaissance mansion (16th C.). In 1791 the facade was rebuilt in stone, with a classical pediment.

The Loenersloot Castle is located in Loenen on the left bank of the River Angstel.
