Hattem Attractions
The little town of Hattem, south of Zwolle, was fortified about 1400. One of the town gates, the Dijkpoort, has survived. Hattem is noted for the shopping opportunities, unique museums and the IJssel River.
The Dijkpoort, one of the old town gates of Hattem, now houses a bakery museum. There is another bakery museum, Het Warme Land, at Kerkhofstraat 13.

The Fortuin windmill (1852) now houses a farming museum.
The Town Hall (Raadhuis), in Renaissance style, was built in 1619 and has been several times restored.
The Streekmuseum in Voermanhuis displays historical material from the surrounding area, together with drawings and paintings by Jan Voerman (landscapes) and Anton Pieck (an illustrator of fairytales and Christmas stories).
