Hato Cave
The Hato Caves are a good place to see stalactites and stalagmites, the only cave open to the public. The caves provided shelter for the Arawak Indians, who left petroglyphs on the walls some 1,500 years ago. In later years, escaped slaves used the caves as hiding places. Currently, the only creatures living here are the island's nectar-sucking bats.
Landhuis Ascencion
Landhuis Ascencion is a plantation house with a good display of antique furniture. It is owned by the Dutch marines as a recreation center. It is one of the oldest houses of its style on the island.

Sorghum Stalk House
In the 19th century, most of the island's inhabitants lived in houses known as Sorghum Stalk Houses wtih loam walls and floors, and sorghum stalks covering the roof. Inside are artifacts pertaining to the house.
