Nelspruit - Lowveld National Botanic Garden
|
|
On the northern outskirts of Nelspruit (reached by way of R 37) is the Lowveld National Botanic Garden (area 154 ha/380ac). The Crocodile River flows through the gardens from east to west, forming the impressive Nelspruit Falls; there is a path running along the river. Only a small part of the Botanic Garden (22 ha/54ac) is laid out as a garden; in the rest of the area, almost untouched by human hand, grow 500 species of plants native to this area.
