Abel Tasman National Park - Coastal Track

The Coastal Track is a 3 day walk along magnificent scenery. It begins at Marahau, on the boundary of the national park, and runs north along the coast to Separation Point, at the northern tip of the promontory, and then turns west to reach Wainui Inlet, at the northwest corner of the park. There is accommodation on some of the inlets (advance booking essential). Since some rivers and lagoons can be crossed only at low tide, you should plan your walk according to the tides. The most difficult crossing is likely to be the estuary of the little Awaroa River.
