Chadron Attractions
The first resident's of Chadron (pop. 5,600) held gunfights in the saloons. The town is in Dawes County, in northwestern Nebraska. Chadron is the location of Chadron State College.
The Dawes County Historical Society Museum contains a log house and barn, 1890s schoolhouse, pioneer church and C & NW caboose. The museum features a collection of antiques including a general store, a hospital room, blacksmith tools, farm machinery, vintage quilts, and a railroad room.

The Museum of the Fur Trade is located at the site of an original trading post east of Chadron. Exhibits tell the story of the fur trade.
