Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park features part of the original 1280-acre Military Reservation. Nine of the original buildings on the Park grounds are made of grout - a mixture of gravel, lime, and cement. The Fort was in use from 1874-1881 during Indian warfare on the Plains.
