Munich - St George Church St Georg
St George Church in Munich, picturesquely situated on the right bank of the Isar, was built in 1766-68 by Johann Michael Fischer. The choir however is Late Gothic - a survival from an earlier, originally Romanesque, church.
The theatrical high altar, with figures of St George on Horseback, St Donatus and St Irene, was the work of Johann Baptist Straub.
