Munich - Olympia Tower

The 290m/950ft television tower, built in 1965-68, was renamed Olympiaturm (Olympia Tower) in honor of the Games. Of its two Körbe (pods), the Postkorb houses the telecommunications installations, and the Aussichtskorb a revolving restaurant and two viewing platforms affording a breathtaking panorama over the city. With a föhn wind blowing the Alps seem almost within touching distance of the tower.
