Munich - Artists' House
(Local Name: Künstlerhaus am Lenbachplatz) The recently renovated Künstlerhaus (Artists' House) was built by Gabriel von Seidl in 1892-1900 as a meeting-place for the leading Munich artists of the day. It is a tall square building with curving gables and two lower wings enclosing a courtyard in front of it. The lavish interior decoration, only part of which has survived in its original state, was mainly designed by the prince of painters Franz von Lenbach.
The Künstlerhaus is now occupied by the Mövenpick restaurant and a small theater.
