Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum Description
On the east bank of the Cooper River, clearly visible from the town, lies the aircraft carrier USS "Yorktown", which recovered the crew of Apollo 8 in 1968. It is now part of the Maritime Museum on Patriot's Point, whose other major attraction is the nuclear-powered freighter USS "Savannah".

Fighter planes, an aircraft carrier, a nuclear merchant ship and a submarine are a few of the items on display.
