Atlatlahuacan - Ex Convento de San Mateo

Atlatlahuacan is situated approximately 6km/4mi south-west of Totolapan. The Augustinian convent was built between 1570 and 1600. Two remarkable posas stand in the large atrium. The church has a simple façade and an open bell-tower. To the left can be seen an open chapel standing in front of a tall tower which was built later. The cloister vaulting is painted with frescos.
