Montréal Space for Life - Biodôme

In 1992 the former Olympic Velodrome, another of the Parc's architecturally eye-catching structures, was officially renamed the "Biodome", marking its transformation from sports arena to covered botanic-zoological garden. Visitors to this absorbing exposition are taken on an ecological journey through four different habitats - tropical rain forest, the St Lawrence River, the Laurentian Forest, and the arctic - traveling in effect from the equator to the pole. Every attempt has been made to reconstruct as accurately as possible the conditions typical of each environment, so providing a natural setting for the characteristic flora and fauna.
