Polson (pop. 4,000) was incorporated in 1910. It was named after pioneer rancher David Polson. The town is located on the Flathead Indian Reservation in a natural amphitheater at the south end of Flathead Lake in western Montana.
The Miracle of America Museum in Polson features military collectibles; toys and dolls; American Indian artifacts; logging and pioneer items; vintage cars, motorcycles and bicycles as well as a pioneer village with 35 walk-in buildings. Another feature is snow vehicles from Glacier National Park.

The Polson-Flathead Historical Museum presents life in the late 1800's and early 1900's through exhibits including buggies and wagons, a jail cell, farm equipment from homesteads and a historic Trading Post from 1881.
