Malta Attractions
Malta (pop. 2,100) was named for the island of the same name in the Mediterranean. The town was the center of a cattle industry with wheat and alfalfa added as the area's leading products.
The Bowdoin National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1936 as a breeding and feeding for migratory waterfowl, shorebirds and other wildlife.

Exhibits at the Phillips County Museum include mining, American Indian artifacts, life-size dinosaur casts, fossils, and agricultural items. An outlaw display is centered around Kid Curry.
