Kalispell (pop. 14,000) is located in Flathead Valley between Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake in northwest Montana. The town was created by moving residents from Demersville and Ashley. Recreational opportunities include fly fishing, whitewater rafting, kayaking and sailing.
Charles E. Conrad, founder of Kalispell, had this Victorian home built for his family in 1895 near the original townsite. The 26-room mansion has been restored and contains original furnishings.

The Hockaday Museum of Art in Kalispell features a collection of artworks by notable area artists. The six galleries feature etchings, paintings and sculpture that relate to Western and American Indian life.
