Big Timber Attractions
Big Timber's (pop. 1,650) name came from the large cottonwood trees that grow along the bank of the Yellowstone River. It is the gateway to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness and offers blue-ribbon trout fishing.
The Big Timber Waterslide has seven large waterslides, wading pools, a Junior Olympic-size pool, a lazy river ride and bumper boats.

The Crazy Mountain Museum in Big Timber features a one-room schoolhouse, a Norwegian Stabbur and artifacts, and a model of Big Timber in 1907.
