Mohács - Széchenyi tér

The central square of Mohács is Széchenyi tér, with a votive church (Emléktemplom) on its south side and the Moorish Town Hall (1927) on the east, both designed by Aladár and Bertalan Árkány. As a symbolic gesture of national unity, soil taken from 3000 Hungarian towns and villages was used in the foundations of the votive church, which was consecrated in 1926 on the 400th anniversary of the battle of Mohács.
