Mitchell Prehistoric Indian Village Museum & Archeodome Description
The Prehistoric Indian Village in Mitchell is on the site of an 11th C fortified pre-Mandan Indian village. The complex was home to as many as 800 semi-nomadic hunters and farmers. The Thomson Center Archeodome has been built over two earth lodges and allows archeologist unlimited access to the excavation site.
