The J. Clark Salyer National Wildlife Refuge is one of the most important waterfowl refuges in the state of North Dakota. Located near Minot, this refuge encompasses the Souris River as it flows north for 80 km / 50mi. Over 300 species of birds have been spotted at the refuge and over 125 nest here annually. The J.
