Description
The main sight on the Lakefront is the War Memorial Center (1957), commemorating the dead of the Second World War and the Korean War. It was designed by the celebrated architect Eero Saarinen. In the same complex on the Lakefront, is the Milwaukee Art Museum. A striking building, with collections that include American and European works from the 19th and 20th centuries.

To the south of the War Memorial Center are the Municipal Pier and the Henry Maier Festival Grounds, where the famous SummerFest is held annually in June/July.
