The MEX 15 leads eastwards (Toluca, Mexico City) across several passes, more than 3000 m (9846 ft) high, for 70km/43mi to Mil Cumbres ("Thousand Peaks"). From here there is a unique panorama across the forest-covered mountain chain of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
