Mexico City - Museo Diego Rivera (House of Anáhuac (Anahuacalli))

A somewhat long but most rewarding taxi-ride will take the visitor further south via Avenida División del Norte for some 3km/2mi and thence along Calle del Museo, to the right. In the House of Anáhuac ("Anahuacalli"), a pyramid-like structure based on a Maya grave and designed by the artist himself, Diego Rivera laid out his own collection of pre-Columbian material, some 200 objects - primarily ceramics - of various Western cultures and Aztec stone sculptures. A reconstruction of his studio gives visitors an insight into the artist's career.
