Mayagüez - Tropical Agriculture Research Station

 
The Estación Experimental Agrícola Federal (Tropical Agricultural Research Station) in Mayagüez features a large collection of tropical plants including cinnamon trees, plantains, yams, orchids and pink torch ginger. The Estación Experimental Agrícola Federal is part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and research involves evaluating "cash crops", imported species, and newly created hybrids. Visitors are welcome to walk through the research station during week days.

Next to the Estación Experimental Agrícola Federal is the Parque de los Proceres, another green space with paths, and worth walking through if you are in this area.
