Silver Spring Attractions
Francis Preston Balir, editor for the Washington Globe, discovered a spring in the heavily wooded area. He then purchased the land around the spring and built a home - he named it Silver Spring.
George Meany Memorial Archives
George Meany was the first president for the American Federation of Labor-Congress of Industrial Organizations. The archives are located on the forty-seven acre campus of the George Meany Center for Labor Studies. Permanent exhibits include photographs, artifacts, and audio-visual excerpts that highlight Meany's life and work, both inside and outside the labor movement.

Gudelsky Gallery
The Gudelsky Gallery is located within the Maryland College of Art and Design. The Gallery exhibits contemporary professional artwork throughout the year and is also used to exhibit faculty and student work.
National Capital Trolley Museum
The National Capital Trolley Museum was founded after the streetcar service in Washington was abandoned. The 17 streetcars from Washington D.C. and other cities operate on a one-mile demonstration railway. There are also traditional exhibits of street railway artifacts, photographs and a model layout representing a Washington streetscape from the 1930'.
