Marburg Palace Description
(Local Name: Schloss) High above Marburg's old town rears the Schloss (287 m/942ft), in the 15th and 16th centuries a seat of the Margraves of Hesse and in 1529 the scene of the Colloquy of Marburg between Martin Luther and Zwingli. In the Schloss is the University Museum of Cultural History. The Schloss has a magnificent Knights' Hall (c. 1300), and a chapel (13th C.). There is an interesting conducted tour of the casemates (Saturdays only).

Nearby, at Landgraf-Philipp-Strasse 4, is the University Museum of Religion.
