In the southwest of China is Tibet. Bordering on Nepal Tibet is a high region and includes a portion of Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. The region has a harsh climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Nobel Peace Prize winner, the Dali Lama, is the head of state.
