Galapagos Islands Map

The Galapagos Islands are world famous for the unique ecosystem that has developed in these remote islands in the South Pacific. The islands are home to a small number of residents but since 1959 most of the land has been declared a National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although the impact of visitors on these islands has been highly controversial and problematic, visitors come here for wildlife viewing, which requires a guided tour.
