Australia Map

Australia is a vast country with an extremely varied landscape, from the rugged Outback to the tropical north, and the cities and beaches that line the East Coast. Most travelers are drawn to the East Coast from Melbourne on up to Cairns, a stretch that includes the cities of Sydney and Brisbane. Other cities located somewhat off the beaten path are Adelaide, Perth, and Darwin.

Because the country is so large traveling within Australia will usually mean flying or many hours of driving. This is particularly true for travel to Perth, which sits alone on the West Coast, far from any of the other major cities. Ayers Rock in the Outback is another somewhat isolated attraction that is a long way from either coast or populated areas.
