To the east of the National Theater in Mannheim lies the Luisenpark (41 hectares/101 acres), with the Lake Theater, a plant house, an aquarium, animal enclosures and the 205 m/673ft high Telecommunications Tower (1975; revolving restaurant at 125 m/410ft).

Museum of Technology and Labor
On the north side of the motorway oval in Mannheim's Luisenpark stands the Museum of Technology and Labor, opened in 1990 (history of industrialization, social history). An outstation of the museum is the museum ship "Mannheim" in the harbor.
