Malone - Wilder Farm - Boyhood Home of Almanzo Wilder
The Almanzo Wilder Homestead consists of 84 acres of farmland, woods, the original post and beam restored farmhouse (1840-1843), reconstructed barns and outbuildings, a museum, research library, orchard, covered picnic pavilion, and nature trail to the Wilder family frontage on the Trout River.
Guided tours of Wilder's boyhood home, which is also the setting for Laura Ingalls Wilder's novel "Farmer Boy", are available. Period furniture, family photographs, and a model of the farm are on display.
