Description
Immediately southwest of Malmö's Stortorget lies Lilla Torget, with houses of the 16th-18th centuries and, on its west side, the new Market Hall (Saluhallen). Of the many old burghers' houses in Malmö the following are particularly notable: the Flensburgska Hus (1595) at Södergatan 9; Jörgen Kocks Hus (1525; now a guesthouse) at Västergatan 5; the Rosenvingeska Hus (1542) at Västergatan 5; Tunnelns Hus or Ulfeldtska Hus (1519) at Adelgatan 4; the Diedenska Hus (1620) at Östergatan 6; and the Thottska Hus (1558) at Östergatan 8. The Kompanihus in Stortorget, built in the 16th century for a commercial firm, is now used for meetings and other functions.
