Town Hall Description
(Local Name: Rathaus) On the banks of the Rhine in Mainz are the Town Hall (1970-73) and the Rheingoldhalle (1968). In Rheingoldstrasse are two towers which formed part of the town's fortifications, the Eisenturm (Iron Tower; c. 1240) and the Holzturm (Wooden Tower; 14th C.).
