Lubec (pop. 1,700) has the distinction of being the easternmost town in the continental United States. Fishing has always been and still is an important part of the community.
With miles of coastline and nearby Quoddy Head State Park, there are plenty of sights and activities to occupy visitors.
The Quoddy Head State Park is a 532 acre park that features a rugged coastline and offers 4.5mi/7km of nature trails, and picnic facilities. The 1808 West Quoddy Lighthouse stands on West Quoddy Point but is not open to visitors.

The Roosevelt Campobello International Park is a joint memorial between Canada and the United States. The site is where Roosevelt vacationed and relaxed.
