Madrid - Museum of Art Museo Laàzaro Galdiano

In 1947 the financier Lázaro Galdiano left to the nation his rich art collection and his mansion, Parque Florido, in which the Lázaro Galdiano Museum was opened in 1951.

The museum contains a huge collection, totalling some 9,000 items in 30 rooms on three floors. There is a wealth of arms and armor, coins and medals, jewelry, Gothic ivories, Baroque crystal, Italian terracottas, tapestries, fabrics and much more.

Museum of Art - Craft collections

On the third floor there is a craft collection which includes textiles, weapons, fans, medals and coins.

Museum of Art - Paintings

The collection of paintings to be found on the first and second floors is worthy of special mention.

The Spanish school is represented by works by Coello, Antolínez, Carreño, Pereda, Herrera the Elder, Madrazo, López, Zacarías, G. Velázquez, Mor, Berruguete, El Greco, Ribera, Zurbarán and Murillo.

In Room XXX there are pictures by Goya on display.

The collection of Dutch and German paintings includes works by David, Joos van Cleve, Hieronymus Bosch, Brueghel, van Dyck, Rubens, Cranach, Gossaert, Koffermanns, Memling, de Vos, Quentin, Massys, Schaffner and Pourbus.

English painting is well represented by works by Reynolds, Romney, Gainsborough, Hopper and Constable.
