Redbank Nature Park, centered on an impressive gorge with a number of perennial waterholes, lies in a beautiful setting under Mount Sonder.

From the parking lot it is a half-hour walk to the gorge, at one point only 1m wide, with sheer walls 40m high. The water in the rock pools is ice-cold.

Tips
Access from Glen Helen a natural track (improved) for 20 km, then side road to park, followed by 4km on a difficult track. A track negotiable only by all-terrain vehicles then runs west (17km) to the Gosse Bluff Scientific Reserve and east through Aboriginal territory to Hermannsburg . Conventional cars would do better to return along Namatjira Drive to Iwupataka and from there take the asphalted Larapinta Drive to Hermannsburg (no permit required for a day trip to see the historic mission station).
