Walferdange Attractions

Walferdange (pop. 5,800) was the Grand ducal residence until the end of the last century and is now a residential center in the process of development. It is situated at the entrance to the Grunewald wood, on one of Luxembourg's principal tourist routes and a short distance from Luxembourg city. It has picturesque scenery and is situated at the junction of the Alzette valley and the wooded heights. It has numerous viewpoints and a well-equipped conference hall. Walferdange is also well known for its roses and there is a rose garden in front of the station. The town has excellent sporting facilities, including a stadium, an all-weather swimming pool with sauna, a fitness room, a playground and fitness trails. The area's history is reflected in the large archeological site: Roman villa and underground aqueduct.
