Differdange Attractions
Differdange (pop. 18,000) is situated in the valley of the Chiers in the southern part of Luxembourg. It is an important industrial center, known as "Steeltown" and is famous for its gray type steel girders.
Differdange is the point of departure for many trips to the French border nearby.
The Marcel Noppeney Center has a collection of minerals, fossils, miner's tools, and holds exhibitions and cultural events. The town of Differdange also features a sports stadium and an omnisports hall, a heated outdoor swimming pool and a park with a flower clock.
The village of Lasauvage is currently being restored as an industrial architectural heritage site. It is the site of the former mines of Fond-de-Gras. Walking maps of the area are available at the town hall.
