Commune of Esch-sur-Sure Attractions
Esch-sur-Sure is a small village set in the mountains and skirted by the river Sure. It is one of the most outstanding sites in the country. The village is dominated by its ruined manor house (927; open year round, free admission) and by the cliffs looking down to the river. The road takes you via two old tunnels to the Sure dam.
Esch-sur-Sure offers 90km of walking paths. The Maison du Parc (natural park reception and information center) is housed in the old cloth factory and has a permanent exhibition on the park. Typical products of the region can be purchased here. There is a cloth-making museum with demonstrations.
