Prebersee

A road 9.5km/6mi long runs northeastward from Tamsweg to the Prebersee (1,492m/4,895ft); on the last weekend in August a sporting competition known as the Wasserscheibenschiessen (firing at targets across the lake) is held. The area around the lake is also popular with skiers. From here it is a 3.5 hours' climb to the summit of the Preber (2,741m/8,993ft) to the north, from which there are fine views of the Lungau.
