Description
(Local Name: Schlachtkapelle) 2km/1mi north of Sempach, above the town on the road to Hildisrieden, is the Schlachtkapelle (Battle Chapel), built in 1473 to commemorate the Confederates' victory over Duke Leopold III of Austria on July ninth 1386, a victory traditionally attributed to the self-sacrifice of Arnold von Winkelried.
