Lowell National Historical Park
Several buildings, canals and walkways in downtown Lowell were designated as a National Historic Site in 1978. Of special interest are the cotton mills and workers' quarters. Visitors can see videos of the city's industrial history in the Visitor Center or hop on the trolley for a tour around some of the significant sites. Boats along the canal system run in the summer.
