The Lea County Museum includes historical buildings that have been restored such as the old Plaza Hotel, a one-room school house, and the original post office from McDonald. The Lea County Museum was created by the Lovington Women's Club in 1969.

Exhibits also include a blacksmith shop, farm equipment, wagons and a tack room.
